PT, DPT
Physical Therapist

I grew up in Santa Cruz , Bolivia in South America to very active and nurturing parents that instilled the love of sports and nature excursions to me and my brothers. I grew up playing tennis and swimming, and enjoyed the weekends in the country at my parents farm. I attended a German school until 12th grade and then I went to University and obtained my bachelors degree in Physical Therapy graduating in 1996. I immigrated to the US in the year 2000 with my two young children. Years later, in 2010, I obtained my doctorate degree in physical therapy from Marymount University in Arlington VA.

Education:

1996: Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy from a University in Germany
2010: Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from Marymount University

Experrience:

I have been practicing physical therapy for around 29 years, first in Bolivia at a pediatric hospital as my passion was working with children. My interests have changed over the years and I am really loving working in the general outpatient setting with patients of all ages which is very rewarding and engaging.

I have had rewarding years working in subacute care at a skilled nursing facility and home health which has given me great experience working with adults with complex medical history. I have an extensive background in treating all orthopedic conditions and many neurological conditions as I have been working in outpatient private practice for the last 10 years. I am experienced in manual therapy, exercise prescription and in dry needling to help patients with injuries, pain and mobility difficulties restore function to their maximum potential. I have a special interest in helping people understand the life changing effects of exercise and helping them engage in more active lifestyles to improve their quality of life.

Core values:

Love others as yourself

Favorite quote

Hobbies:

My faith, my family and my friends are the most important part of my life and spending time with them is something I make priority for. I also enjoy cooking, gardening, playing with my German Shepherd and kitties and travelling to the beach in the summer. A must is a yearly trip to Santa Cruz with my daughter to enjoy our family and to see exciting places. I continue to lead an active life soaking in fresh air while on my walks, practice yoga at a local studio and do resistance training at home.

What do you like most about working for Mid-County Physical Therapy?

Midcounty PT is very reputable in our community and I can say it is for great reasons. Super friendly atmosphere, true team work from the owners to the therapists and office staff and everybody is very supportive of one another and I am very happy to work in such a positive environment.
